Bravo was born in 2007. We adopted Bravo to the Healing with the Horses herd on Oct 7, 2023. He has become good friends with all the boys and proves to be amazingly calm with everyone.

Meet the Crew

  • Brenda Goodman

    FOUNDER/OWNER

As an avid horse person Brenda has 52 years of experience riding and working around horses.  She has worked in the medical field (both animal and human industries), as a Veterinary Technician and an Emergency Medical Technician.  She also worked in the Orange and South Euclid-Lyndhurst school districts as a paraprofessional helping students with special challenges. She raised her two daughters around horses and has experienced first hand the emotional and physical healing that horses provide. Through this healing, Brenda conquered her own emotional trauma and witnessed  her daughters’ emotional and physical healing.

Brenda is now fulfilling her life’s dream of owning an equine retreat where people come to heal with the help of the horses.  Brenda’s specialty is in working with her own horses,  who intuitively know just what humans need.  Brenda has brought family and friends to her horses for over 10 years, facilitating the calming, magical, and therapeutic effects these gentle giants bestow upon people. Thus giving this facility its most appropriate name, Healing with the Horses.

Lisa is passionate about making learning meaningful.  During her 30 years of private and public school teaching in the K-12 arena she has had the privilege to meet and work with many young people ranging in age from 6 to 16.  Even through No Child Left Behind, the Common Core, and a deluge of the latest and greatest teaching methods, she maintained a classroom environment where meaningful and experiential learning reigns.  In addition to working with young people, she serves doctoral students, also where meaningful education occurs.  With that said, her teaching method is to assess where the student is in his/her learning and moves the student forward.  Lisa sees herself as a facilitator/teacher.

Becoming the best educator she could be, Lisa attained National Certification and earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Change.  Through teaching and learning, Lisa embraces the idea that honoring each student and creating bonds is the best way to guide an education.
